Building on Recent Success

The confirmation comes nearly one year after Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake launched to critical and commercial success. The same development team responsible for that 2024 horror hit is likely handling the original game’s remake, bringing their proven expertise to reimagining the title that started the legendary series.

This development update was initially reported by gaming news outlets including Eurogamer, with detailed coverage available from industry sources covering Bloober Team’s production milestones.

Expanding Horror Portfolio

Beyond the Silent Hill projects, Bloober Team continues to expand its horror gaming footprint. The studio recently launched Cronos: The New Dawn, an original horror IP that has already sold 200,000 units across multiple platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

However, the studio clarified that while they’re considering future development of the Cronos IP, they’re not currently working on downloadable content or a sequel. “At the moment, apart from marketing updates, the company is not actively working on development (neither a sequel nor DLC), but we do not rule it out in the future,” the executives confirmed.

New Publishing Initiatives

The Polish developer has also launched Broken Mirror Games, a new publishing label that will debut with I Hate This Place on November 7. This craft-based, isometric survival horror game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, further demonstrating Bloober Team’s commitment to the horror genre across multiple development and publishing fronts.

With the original Silent Hill remake now in full production and a second mystery project underway, horror gaming enthusiasts have significant developments to anticipate from the studio that has proven its ability to handle iconic horror properties with care and commercial success.
